About the Taylorcraft Model BC12-D
The Taylorcraft BC 12-D is an American light, single-engine, high-wing general aviation monoplane that was built by the Taylorcraft Aviation Corporation of Butler, Pennsylvania. lntroduced just after WWII, the Taylorcraft was originally built with a 65 hp engine and could fly faster than other light singles of the time. This particular aircraft was upgraded to an 85 hp engine. This not only increased performance but also allowed for an electrical starter, which is especially helpful when operating as a float plane on the water.
