About Us airplane iconIntroduction - Our Story - Youth Program - Contact Us

While the Port Townsend Aero Museum is unique in several ways, the most important is our youth mentorship program. Young adults from our community learn valuable technical skills, leadership techniques, and responsibility. Click the graphic to the right to see a brief video introducing the program. More information is available on the youth mentorship program for those interested.

The museum has been operating since 2001. We were proud to open our new museum building in 2008 after years of hard work and fundraising by our volunteers. Feel free to read our full story.

Our collection is extensive, so exhibits in the museum rotate regularly. We invite you to visit us in person to see our aircraft, artwork, and other displays housed in our state-of-the-art facility.

Our restoration operations take place in a shop near the main museum at Jefferson County Internation Airport. We have extensive in-house expertise on antique aircraft restoration techniques, including fabric covering and structural repair. This shop performs work on our own collection as well as contract labor.
